It’s starting!…Retirement!

It’s starting!…Retirement!

It is very weird….there is so much preparation going on especially this year with all the Covid arrangements…it must be crazy…so much to organise, change and alter. I have to say I am really glad that I am not going back because of so much change but I will miss the routine and the girls.
Anyway, It’s a new chapter for me! At the moment it’s all about being in the Pied Piper Office as we are a fundraiser down! It’s about looking at Cheltenham Open Door to see how we can serve the vulnerable and possibly homeless in Cheltenham and I need some time to be a Nonna!

September 1st 2020…the first day of the next phase in my life! It is exciting and I have so much that I would like to do but it is how to do it all in these crazy times! Events are almost impossible, fundraising is so difficult but we will have a big list of needs no doubt from the hospital, SEND schools and other organisations.
Once redundancies kick in the need will be greater at Chelt Open Door too and the team there will adapt as they do efficiently always in a non judgemental way. It’s been a tough decision about Christmas with so many provisos in place but we will make it memorable for all in need.

And so to JDK…I think I will do a retirement diary! Daily blog! How it all comes into play! How restful it really is! And a log of hopefully exciting things start to happen it on!
More gigs would be good but how can that happen?
We were looking forward to a couple of weeks in Spain but the flights were cancelled!
Bournemouth…here we come!

I am still unpacking! Trying to fit all my jumpers in…yes I’ll be ruthless! Haven’t unpacked two boxes of long boots yet!
Might have to be ruthless! And still have one box of long long dresses…tricky…I have already put two on the “go to the charity shop pile” and then took them off!!

Tomorrow is a new challenge! I am ready! Nonna Day and a few meetings thrown in! And I must collect my post!

Retirement Eve!

In the Village

This is it!

This is it!

It does feel weird but this is our last night in Shelburne House at Dean Close School. We came at the end of term in 2001, dumped our stuff in Fawley House and then went on holiday! We came back and moved into Old Shelburne for one term and then...
