Up early! And ready to go today! Exercise and House assembly at 8.30 talking to the girls about Terry Waite. Here we are on day 39?? Of lockdown…I actually try not to count and I spoke to the girls about Terry who did over 1700 days in captivity. He was beaten and chained to a radiator most of the time and here we are struggling to do what we have to do! We are also in a better place than Spain & Italy where the children haven’t been allowed out at all and only one parent is allowed out with the children at a time now….anyway…I think the girls got it and with a quite a few green chits for good work, a request for some hair pics we were off to a good start! I have had a pink hair style but some very tidy work stations so that will be my content for the Shelburne Shout this week! I had some lovely emojis first thing…I really look forward to them….just to have contact with them…instead of the roll call…relationships…

I also sorted out lots of unwanted duvet covers today to send to the ladies that are making scrubs. My friend Viv is an amazing seamstress and is making some really whacky scrubs…you could wear them out!!….so if anyone has any spare duvet covers that they don’t want please message me and we will get them to the right place.

A catch up coffee with my partner in crime Cat Hage and a careers chat with Nick Bracey was a pleasant couple of hours in the virtual world. We had 4 sixth form join the careers chat and Nick from Brace Creative was brilliant with them. He spoke about the importance of networking and talking to people. Qualifications are important but so is being able to communicate in any environment. He spoke about valuing his customers and growing and working on relationships with clients. Great advice for the pupils….Relationships…

Then it was the Quiz! Number 4 and involved me having to learn some new songs…I am running out! I added a trendy one…dance monkey…that was a challenge…I feel happier with Bluesy ones!….but tonight we got to £1317 with some gift aid to come in!!

I think that counts as an action packed day with masses of emails answered, social media updated and some LinkedIn too…How am I feeling???….BRILLIANT!! According to my How to be Brilliant Book I was supposed to talk to 5 people today that I didn’t know but as we are not really venturing out I added 5 new people on LinkedIn instead! Relationships are so important and maybe the lockdown is giving us more time to contact people we haven’t been in contact for a while…I am going to ring someone I haven’t spoken to for a while tomorrow…Imagine if we did that every day…7 in a week…Lets do it….Relationships….
