I think going for Brunch with the next General Manager of The Ivy in Bristol certainly helps to have first class attention, service and food so well done me for accompanying Steven to The Ivy in Bath today for brunch! I have to say I never look forward to going to Bath as I always feel travel sick before I get there and today was no exception!! It doesn’t matter who drives I just think it is the roads…such a pain but we parked in a shopping area…yippee!! And arrived 10 minutes late but were greeted with wonderful politeness.

I love a padded, booth like, bench like seat and we were settled with the lovely, coloured, picturesque menu. All the waiters, floor manager etc introduced themselves to Steven as he starts next week and I enjoyed all the attention as per usual!!…hehe

I chose pate & fishcake and Steven went for the black truffle orzo pasta & fillet of sea bass with black olive tapenade…blimey…what a mouthful!…. excuse the pun!

Our starters arrived and so did another couple to sit next to us and it was Richard E Grant!!!! I was beside myself with excitement but contained myself!…I managed to whisper to Steven that I thought a famous actor was sat next to him!! And we struggled through the meal to remember his name but when he had gone I asked the couple the other side of them!!! Obviously I was desperate to ask him for a selfie but could tell that wasn’t what you did to A List Actors on their day off!!!…shame!!

Back to The Ivy!!….The building is beautiful, individual to each Ivy apparently & colourful with excellent service and food…it was a struggle to get through 3 courses but I managed it!!….The chocolate Bombe was De Li Cious and I enjoyed watching the flambé being served…To finish our coffees had amazing latte art and we then enjoyed a tour of the upstairs room, cocktail bar and fabulous terrace which would be fantastic in Summer.

What a day!…Fab food, Spot of sale shopping and brunch next to an A lister…

JDKallday 10/10 for The Ivy

10/10 for the company

10/10 for the shopping
