Pied Piper Appeal
In 2014 Nick Broady as Chairman of the Appeal approached me and asked me to be a Trustee. I was worried about committing myself as running a boarding House of 60 teenage girls, teaching and doing some gigs kept me quite busy! He said that I would only have to attend three meetings a year! Something has gone wrong somewhere as I am now the Vice Chairman, oversee the Office, Chair the Promotional Board, sit on the Summer Show Committee and do all the Social Media for Pied Piper… Never agree to anything with a Car Salesman!
Goals Beyond Grass
I first met Brian Dix from Goals beyond Grass when as a Member of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire I went to watch the young people training at Cheltenham. They are a Powerchair Football Team who play in motorised wheelchairs and are aged from 4 to 24. Brian is an amazing man and I try to help them as much as possible through Hon.Co, Dean Close and Pied Piper. We are raising money for them at school this year and recently had two new Chairs delivered for Charlie and peter to start their training properly.
Cheltenham Open Door
A couple of years ago I met Sara Reader from Cheltenham Open Door. She is an amazing Woman not only because she has pink hair and often pink shoes! And pink nails she has worked for Cheltenham open Door for over 20 years and is a GIVER!! She spends time with the vulnerable, disadvantaged and some homeless and wants to help them. She manages the Centre in Grosvenor Street in Cheltenham with some Rosie the Chef and some volunteers who provide hot meals, food parcels, clothes, showers and everything is donated as they do not have any proper funding. I have taken our pupils there from Dean Close and we have collected food, toiletries, make up and clothes. I managed to put Rose the Chef in touch with the Malmaison Hotel to try and sort their left over food but the management has changed and I think I need to start again! It is a fantastic charity and one I like to support however I can….Can you help too?
